SIZE MATTERS--The Kelvin in only 12" wide and 24" long
We've built the Kelvin with durable High Density Polyethelene (HDPE). The frame is 3/8" thick, yet the machine only weighs 47 lbs (no water). This design not only is more durable than the typical rotomold material found on most extractors today, but enables us to reduce our production costs during fabrication, which translates into tremendous savings to you.
The Trouble with Rotomold
As petroleum costs have risen over the past decade, it's resulted in hot water extractor pricing to rise during that time as well. That's because the rotomold body of the machine (the part you see from the outside) has become extremely expensive to make for most manufacturers. Most companies don't have the 'economies of scale' to build thousands of these machines at once to spread that cost over many machines. So, not only has pricing increased, but the overall quality of many machines made today has declined. Cheaper plastic, poor wiring, lower quality components. Anyone who's purchased a machine recently can attest to that!
Kelvin--Engineered from the inside
At MacTec, we've taken a different approach. Sure, rotomolded machines look nice, but what matters is engineering, not appearance: your not buying a machine for it's good looks! By using HDPE to fabricate the frame, we've been able to reduce the overall cost of the frame of the machine exponentially over a rotomold design. But are able to build a much stronger case, as HDPE is inherently stronger than most rotomold material used today. With those cost savings on the outside frame, we can focus on only using the highest quality components INSIDE the machine while offering the machine at a rock bottom price. Heavy duty 12 gauge copper wiring throughout the machine. Ametek vacuum motors, Flojet or Shurflo solution pumps (depending on requested pump pressure), industrial strength switches and the most reliable heating system ever conceived. We've tested our machines in the most demanding enviroments for over a year before bringing them to full production. The Kelvin was built to handle daily, hourly, constant use and abuse.
Designed for the long haul
MacTec has also conceived some innovative design elements to the machine making service and maintenence a snap! We've built the machine with an industry first 'back door' to the machine to access the solution pump for service. With our innovative 'back door', you can open up the back of the machine and access the pump without emptying the solution tank and can adjust the pressure switch in seconds
Most solution pumps die early from lack of maintaining the 'pressure switch.' The pressure switch is located internally on the pump, and is adustable from an outside screw located near the solution line entry and exit. Basically, when your not pressing the trigger on the wand, the pump shouldn't be running. A pressure switch that isn't properly set will result in the pump constantly running, which results in the pump overheating and buring out before its time. You'll notice better performance and a longer lasting pump.
All of the components are completely shielded from water, the vacuum system exhausts completely outside of the machine, so no long term damage to wiring and components will take place over the course of time.
